So yesterday the shortlisted images for the 2024 British Photography Awards were announced, and I'm absolutely delighted that my image of Avro Lancaster NX611 Just Jane has been included in the Low Light Photography category, which is a new addition to the awards this year.
This photograph was taken in October 2023 at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, as part of a photography day organised by Timeline Events and their amazing team of volunteer reenactors. It was an unique experience, and an honour to get so close to such an iconic aircraft, especially when the four Merlin engines were fired up earlier in the day!
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 4th November, which coincidentally will be held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London. In addition to the judging panel choosing their favourites, there is also a 'People's Choice' award in each category as well - so if you;re reading this before the 4th November, please do have a look at the Low Light category shortlist, and if you think this image is worthy of your vote I'd be very grateful.
